Rooted in professional photography
3sixty° studio was founded by Joshua Haruni. After gaining a Distinction in Professional Photography Practice at the London College of Printing, Joshua enjoyed a 10-year career as a photojournalist, earning commissions from agencies including the Mines Advisory Group and The Nour Foundation. Joshua’s photographic work has taken him around the world, documenting life in Yemen, Korea and Japan, Laos and South East Asia. His work has featured in The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Observer, Elle magazine and Marie Claire, and his book, Do Not Photograph, was published in 2018.
A diamond pedigree
Joshua has been around gemstones all his life, as his family firm has been at the forefront of the trade in precious gemstones and natural fancy colour diamonds for 70 years. Having left photojournalism, in 2004 he qualified as a gemmologist with the American Gem Society – an experience that revealed his unerring eye for colour. He immediately set up his own diamond company specialising in natural fancy colour diamonds, and also spent two years in Africa buying and polishing rough diamonds. Thanks to his years in the diamond industry he has a respect for items of high value and an ability to portray them as they need to be shown.
In pursuit of perfection
Joshua initially developed 3sixty° Studio when he moved his own diamond inventory online. None of the off-the-shelf imaging solutions available at the time (or even now) could show his fancy colour diamonds with the accuracy he demanded. So he drew on his photographic knowledge to create his own industry-leading system. With the help of an industrial designer, an electronics engineer and software developers, Joshua spent two years developing custom-made machinery that meets his rigorous standards for colour accuracy and exceptional product detail.

Having started with diamonds and fine jewellery, 3sixty° has now expanded to cover all kinds of antiques and objets from our studio in Mayfair. Our clients find that they are making significant savings on shipping, since they can send prospective customers a video in the first instance. And we’re proud to say that many of our customers have sold products overseas on the strength of our videos alone.
